Office walls

This project is office partition walls with extra sound resistance. We staggered the studs in the walls, insulated the walls, insulated the space above the walls, and added a special drop down door sweep to reduce sound under the door.

Dan (1aEmpty space.  Office will be used for counseling and privacy is important. Waiting area will be created in left corner.

Dan (1bTwo sets of studs are used, one set for each side of the wall.

Dan (1dThis close up shows a stud in the center not close to this side of the wall.

Dan (1eThis close up shows that the drywall for this side of the wall is only connected to half of the studs. This design is so that the sound does not travel through the studs to the other side of the wall.

After drywall is installed on both sides we blew cellulose insulation into the wall.

The moldings were custom made in my shop to match the other moldings in the office.

This is the finished family counseling space with a waiting room on the other side of this sound resistant wall.
